Nick Cohen suspension blamed on trans people by The Telegraph

In a piece written for The Telegraph by Ben Woods it is claimed that Nick Cohen has been suspended from The Observer following a trans rights row. Whereas this is chronologically correct, it isn't really the whole story.

Attacks on LGBTQIA+ children target ‘safe exit’ buttons

We don't have a quick escape-feature built into TransWrites.World currently, however you can easily emulate this for yourself with shortcuts. For example in Firefox browser the shortcut to close a window or tab is 'ctrl+W'. Combine this with browsing sites you want privacy for with most modern browsers' inbuilt privacy feature (ctrl+shift+p or right click -> "open in private new window" in Firefox) and presto! You have exactly what is offered by The Trevor Project on every web page in existence.

Suella Braverman says “schools should not pander” to trans children

Halifax Pronoun Badges & The media’s disastrous attempt to manufacture outrage

So what happened is that a few people on the internet saw Halifax make an inclusive gesture - during pride month, when brands tend to do that sort of stuff - and got upset about it online. The media then got involved to amp up the story and try to make it into a moment by writing about and sharing it widely via their platforms. Which they did entirely for the clicks because they don't really care one way or another what happens with regards to trans inclusion - they literally just want you to visit their site and share it with your friends for the ad revenue.

ECU responds to complaint about transphobic BBC article

My personal, Gemma Stone, opinion on this is that we should escalate it as far as it will go; and then keep on complaining if we have to. It seems like a minor thing, one article about us portraying us as sexually violent - but its more than that. In my opinion a victory here is getting the article taken down and sending the message to the BBC that what they did was dangerous, harmful and will not be tolerated.
