Equality Act and the awful anti-trans debate in UK Parliament
On Monday 12 June, MPs met in Westminster Hall for a three hour debate on the definition of sex in the Equality Act 2010. A contentious debate that had been bubbling up for several months. Moss writes;
Watersports governing body, FINA, bans ‘male puberty’ from women’s competitions
Its my view that these rules won't stand up to legal scrutiny and will amount to discrimination despite their best efforts not to. Not only that, but it will also put pressure on healthcare organisations to allow younger transitions to happen - something which the anti-trans forces behind campaigns such as "protecting women's sports" also campaign against.
Where was JK Rowling during #BanConversionTherapy protests?
JK Rowling has begun trending on Twitter in the aftermath of the protest as trans people in particular remember that in June 2020 JK Rowling posted the following tweet;
"I respect every trans person's right to live any way that feels authentic and comfortable to them. I'd march with you if you were discriminated against on the basis of being trans. At the same time, my life has been shaped by being female. I do not believe it's hateful to say so."
Allison Bailey’s attempt to sue Stonewall UK; an introduction

Under this government, every day existing a trans person is a trans rights protest, a protest that we will live our lives, be our true selves, and never give up despite their attacks on us writes Owen Hurcum
Labour Shadow Chancellor, Rachel Reeves has a problem with transgender women in changing rooms
So yeah, Rachel Reeves, if you have a problem with transgender women using the bathroom or changing areas? Then you can wait outside. As can any other transphobe. I am not asking for permission to use women's spaces, I am asserting my rights to not be discriminated against for being transgender.
Why has Reem Alsalem been so silent on self-ID outside of Scotland?
The UN Special Rapporteur for Violence Against Women and Girls, Reem Alsalem was vocal opposition to Scotland's GRR bill in 2022. So why has Reem Alsalem been so silent as other UN member states across Europe introduce self-ID policies of their own?
