There have already been attempts from transphobes to blame this on trans people. We have seen comments wherein people take aim at gender neutral language, such as "people who can get pregnant". The argument being that not using the word "woman" has made things more difficult, confusing and harder to argue. However I haven't used the word "woman" in this piece even once, and don't plan to. The BBC are a corrupt and institutionally transphobic organisation. We’ve known this for a while and I’ve covered multiple occasions demonstrating that exact fact. Including the not too distantly recent time they tried to use a cisgender sexual predator as evidence that trans women are “pressuring women into sex”. This event is no different as they attempt to turn Graham Linehan into a sympathetic character.

Allison Bailey is alleging she was discriminated against by her employers, Garden Court Chambers, and also Stonewall UK. She believes that she has lost work because of Stonewall as she is a critic of 'Stonewall Law'. JK Rowling has begun trending on Twitter in the aftermath of the protest as trans people in particular remember that in June 2020 JK Rowling posted the following tweet; "I respect every trans person's right to live any way that feels authentic and comfortable to them. I'd march with you if you were discriminated against on the basis of being trans. At the same time, my life has been shaped by being female. I do not believe it's hateful to say so."

An employment tribunal has found that a trans woman was discriminated against when she was asked about her use of the changing areas. This discrimination was based on the protected characteristic of gender reassignment.
