Uganda LGBT ban: Where the hell is everybody?

Most readers will probably be aware of the situation at the moment in Uganda, where under the influence of American far-right so-called Christian groups, the government has enacted a law criminalising all LGBT people. But the story on the ground of the Uganda LGBT ban is much darker. Jenny List from Trans Rescue writes;

Parliament of Finland where Self ID in Finland is currently being proposed and debated

Self ID in Finland and the awful bigger picture

Self ID in Finland is on the horizon so we asked a Finnish trans writer to tell us about it and the wider context it exists in. Vilja Heikkilä writes;

For Women Scotland case lost, what does it mean?

For Women Scotland case has been lost. This was an appeal in which they argued that women with a GRC should not be considered of the female sex for the purposes of the Equality Act 2010. The judgment of the Inner House of the Court of Session - Scotland’s highest court - held that a trans woman with a GRC falls within the definition of ‘woman’ for the purposes of section 11 of the Equality Act 2010, which protects against discrimination on the basis of sex.

Helen Webberley wins tribunal against GMC – but what was it all about?

Helen Webberley, the doctor behind GenderGP, has been ruled fit to practice medicine and can return to work, according to a judge at the Royal Courts of Justice last week. This marks the end of a seven year battle between Webberley, the General Medical Council (GMC), and other professionals involved in trans healthcare and the regulation of healthcare, with gender affirming care at the heart of the matter.

Trans healthcare on the NHS; a story of repeated failure

Between striking nurses and ambulance workers, twelve or more hour waits in A&E, and patients getting passed from service to service with no actual care provided, a lot of people are seeing what a non-functioning National Health Service can look like. A sight we are all to familiar with when trying to access trans healthcare on the NHS.

VTubing is, perhaps unsurprisingly, incredibly intersectional

At the 2023 Game Awards we didn’t just have Alan Wake the Musical, Jordan Peele coming out of an ominous door and surprise God of War DLC. We also had confirmation that VTubing is taking over the world of livestreaming, and for good reason, as Twitch’s most subscribed female streamer (with an additional 1.87M followers) Ironmouse took home the award for Content Creator of the Year.

Posie Parker was allowed in Australia, lets make sure her ideology isn’t

"We need to talk more about the ideology which Posie Parker tried to import at her Let Women Speak event in Victoria, Australia", writes LilahRPG - who was part of the counter protest.

Billie Bust Up’s queer music rhythm combat is stuck in my head!

"At its core, Billie Bust Up seems to be a fairly simple 3D mascot platformer. Levels involve jumping across platforms, collecting collectables, and navigating throughout environments. It is however when you reach one of the game’s boss fights that the game’s strengths really start to shine through." Laura Kate Dale writes;
