How transgender people murdered Charlie Kirk and how we’ll kill again

Charlie Kirk, an American right wing political propagandist, was murdered on 10th September 2025 during one of his outings to spread right wing propaganda at schools across the USA.

The facts as we know them are that at the time of being shot Charlie Kirk was in the process of spreading anti-trans and racist rhetoric regarding gun crime. An audience member was asking about gun crime rates amongst these demographics whilst Kirk is responding with misinformation to imply a much greater threat than actually exists. This is common right wing rhetoric currently, ie “trans terrorists”, generally used to redirect conversations around gun control and support more restrictions on trans lives.

At which point a gunman, acting alone according to all known accounts, fired one lethal shot killing Kirk near instantly. The gunman is alleged to be a white cisgender man from a republican family who appears to have really liked online memes. There have been no reports of the killer’s motive or political affiliations or social groups.

The killer engraved messages on the bullet casings which include;

“notices bulge oWo what’s this..?”

“Hey Fascist catch” with an up arrow, right arrow and then three down arrows

“Oh bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao ciao ciao”

“If you read this you are gay LMAO”

In order they are: A meme associated with furry communities but one more often than not used to make fun of said communities. A meme associated with the Helldivers 2 community, a video game inspired by Starship Troopers where the arrow code is used for the “Eagle 500kg Strategem” and allows the player to basically throw a big bomb at a target. A reference to an anti-fascist folk song. And essentially what amounts to an archaic kind of homophobic meme that predates the internet, where the phrase would be written in places eyes may wander or are otherwise not easy to see.

In the immediate aftermath of the killing, in some cases before Kirk was even announced to have died from the shot, transgender people were being implicated by political pundits and the press. There were calls for violence against our community before any information about the suspect had been released or was known to anyone at all.

When initial reports and CCTV footage were finally released suggesting a white cisgender young man as the suspect the media pivoted to the engravings on the bullet casings. It was reported, via another right wing political propagandist who claimed to have insider information from authorities, that the engravings on the bullet casings contained messages pertaining to “transgender ideology”. This was reported across the world on front pages.

Assumedly this was in reference to the “notices bulge” meme, though one report from CNN suggests authorities believed this due to the arrows. Other reports are still attempting to maintain the claim via the former, though again it has to be stressed this meme is primarily used to make fun communities like furries and transgender people, not in support of them. So it is a stretch to link this to transgender activism or “transgender ideology” to say the least.

These reports suggesting the suspected killer supported “transgender ideology” led to even more calls for violence against our community.

With better information about the nature of the memes and their potential link to right wing irony posting again, ie the rumour that the suspect is a “groyper”, the media pivoted. There are now reports from authorities claiming that a roommate of the suspect is actually in a romantic relationship with the suspect and is a early in transition transgender woman. This however is also debated as the only source we have for this is a so far incompetent investigative team who are also reported to have thought some arrows were transgender.

The only evidence I have personally seen regarding this is some photos of a somewhat androgynous looking roommate who used an AI app to make their profile picture into anime and it made them into a anime woman. Another friend commented on this photo about this and the roommate responded about how they just wanted the sloth hoodie in the photo. Irrespective of anything “killer’s transgender roommate” is now leading the media cycle about this story.

The roommate has however been reported to have been cooperative with authorities and no reports link them to the murder outside of them having lived with the suspect.

Nonetheless; these reports have once again led to even more calls for violence against my community.

From the very top of this story transgender people have been forced into a narrative which seeks to frame us as violent and dangerous in order to justify violence and other action in opposition to us. From the very words Kirk was speaking as the cisgender shooter lined up the shot to the latest attempt to blame it on a potentially transgender roommate or romantic partner at no point do we actually reconcile with the facts; gun violence can happen to anyone, any time and in America it’ll probably be a white cis guy who pulls the trigger.

Transgender people may not have had any actual involvement in this story at all but you wouldn’t know it looking at our media and political landscapes which may as well be handpainting the targets on each and every one of our backs with its deliberate reporting that has worked hard to maintain its accusations against us. To them we may as well have killed Charlie Kirk ourselves and I have no doubt that should another figure of Kirk’s ilk find an untimely death we will be implicated and blamed for that one too.

Meanwhile, transgender Americans who weren’t already looking to leave the country due to the Trump administration now are as it is expected that Kirk’s murder will be used to ramp up government action against trans people while doing nothing about the constant rise in gun violence against trans people in the USA.

Some media outlets have issued retractions, albeit far smaller than their front page claims of “transgender ideology” however this has not stemmed the flow of anti-trans rhetoric and threats of violence. No responsibility has been taken, or will be taken, for the harm this reporting has and continues to put my community in who again: had absolutely nothing to do with any of this other than being someone Kirk was opposed to and liked to lie about.
