Sex Matters is an organisation ran by Maya Forstater and Helen Joyce who campaign against transgender equality under the guise of safeguarding women and children. A tagline I find hilarious in the light of the admission that Helen Joyce reads porn of teenagers.
An anonymous Twitter account recently posted a series of photos that show Helen Joyce and other members of Sex Matters taking a train to Cambridge last night. In the photos Helen Joyce’s phone is quite clearly visible on which graphic depictions of sex can be easily read. A quick search for some of the quotes has led the community to discover the source; A Harry Potter fan fiction about sixth formers fucking.
Titled “Mudblood” and written by user ComfortableSilences the work available to read on FanFiction.Net is over 70,000 words of sixth formers and other youngsters having graphic sex. The Archive of Our Own version includes the following in its tags; “Smut”, “Minor Harry Potter/Ginny Weasley”, “Mildly Dubious Consent”, “Kidnapping”, “Bathroom sex”.
The excerpt of the story in the description starts with a teenage Draco Malfoy calling Hermoine Granger a slur before moving on to describing his arousal for her and her arousal for having that power over him. You know, your usual trite nonsense about how racial supremacists secretly want to bone those they dehumanise and minorities can simply fuck our way to freedom.
In a statement from Sex Matters Helen Joyce admitted to reading Harry Potter porn by attempting to justify it as part of her “research” into “gender-identity ideology”. Not sure why there’s a hyphen there since “gender identity” is two words – but their words not mine!
In the statement Sex Matters and Helen Joyce’s personal Twitter account have linked to two pieces in which Joyce discusses this kind of fan fiction. One from 2016 and one from late 2022. In short they are attempting to link fan fiction to being transgender much in the way that others have attempted with everything from Disney films, to anime, to pronouns in email signatures.
It is genuinely at the point where these organisations would be better off simply just stating what activities they think don’t indoctrinate children into “gender-identity ideology”. It would likely be a very short and empty list given the hard work that anti-trans groups, including Helen Joyce, have put into the idea of trans as “social contagion”.
Under a “social contagion” model of understanding about why the rate of people who identify as transgender increases each year; literally anything and everything in society is something that can lead a child to believe they too are transgender.
Even the mere act of leaving us alone is counter to the “sane world” that Helen Joyce claims to represent. This because she claims that every trans person is a “huge problem” and that as a society we should work to “reduce the number of trans people” in order to create that “sane world”.
Though it has to be said that the world where you are on a train “professionally” reading porn about teenagers and attempting to link it to your hate campaigns against one of the smallest minorities on the planet is uhh… not coming across as all that sane in all honesty. This is some very kooky behaviour Helen!
It should also be noted that when Helen Joyce reads porn of teenagers its for research, obviously, and she will be being given the benefit of the doubt for that. Had this been a trans person or ally doing something similar this story would be all over the mainstream press insinuating all sorts of horrible things, completely ruining her reputation and possibly putting her life at risk.
But she is part of the media establishment and is further insulated by the fact that the UK’s media output on trans people is some of the most egregiously transphobic in the world right now. They can say and do whatever horrible crap they like and you and I can’t do a damn thing about it – they’ll all cover for each other regardless.
Either way it is incredibly funny that in an attempt to further be a transphobic loser this grown ass woman Helen Joyce reads porn of teenagers. She should never be able to make another public appearance without someone asking her whether she’s currently reading about kids fucking or not.
