The Trans Agenda: Cass continues to crumble
From Trump’s anti-trans policies to Thailand’s historic same-sex marriage law, explore the week’s highs and lows in global trans rights.

Meta’s overhaul of its “Hateful Conduct” and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies has drawn sharp condemnation after the company explicitly allowed users to label LGBTQ+ people as “mentally ill.”
Hilary Cass brands critics of her report on trans kids as “shroud-wavers,” while MPs and activists expose the flaws in her claims and their dangerous implications.
I adored books as a child but had always struggled to find characters I could really relate to or who thought like me. I felt very alone and like there was something deeply wrong with me. This carried on through into my adulthood with all characters in fiction feeling like aliens to me. That is until my friend recommended a horror book by autistic transgender author, Andrew Joseph White.
After 8 years away from the video production scene social media accounts for Scroobius Pip suddenly started lighting up with an announcement. Mithago’s Burn A Building had moved him so much we just had to go take a look for ourselves. Crow Rudd writes;
We all know this scenario, you are down to clown and the mood is set. You pull out your well curated collection of toys like a wine connoisseur of orgasms. You click that bad boy into your harness, ready to ruin this lovely person who is ready to be jack hammered into the afterlife.
But alas you are fat and the harness isn’t big enough, even worse the fabric cuts into your skin like paper cuts and the jackhammering has ended with a weird plop as the toy has abandoned all hope and unceremoniously falls out of the o-ring of your harness. No worries though, the days of horny fat suffering have come to an end.
After trans women were recently banned from the women’s game, attention is now turning to new restrictions on trans men, who must sign a declaration all are refusing to accept.
Last week was Rainbow Laces week. Football clubs up and down the pyramid dedicate matches to LGBTQ+ inclusion. Players can choose to wear the accessories in solidarity with LGBTQ+ fans and to signal to any closeted footballers that they are a safe person to come out to. Club captains may also replace their usual armband with one adorning the rainbow flag.

In recent months, panic has spread across the United States as questionable reports about the federal budget reconciliation bill, popularly known as Donald Trump’s favored “One, Big, Beautiful Bill,” spread throughout social media.
In 2022 I made a video about my attempt to get gender-affirming care from the NHS entitled “I Emailed My Doctor 133 Times.” I showed that Britain operates a discriminatory healthcare system in which trans people have to beg permission to transition whilst the same medicine is available to cis people much easier. This results in years-long delays that have contributed to the deaths of multiple patients. I compared my odyssey through the system to the Joseph Heller novel Catch-22.
The puberty blocker ban has now been extended until 2027 in an act targeting a few hundred kids around the country at the behest of dedicated hate groups against them and literally nothing else. Trans Kids Deserve Better protested this action outside of Wes Streeting’s office last night.
It is absolutely going to be harder to survive, resist and flourish under this ruling. I will not sugarcoat that in any way. But it is not impossible, I don’t believe it will last forever and the crap time we spent in this awkward bigoted limbo will be so much more tolerable with the beauty that is community.

Following the announcement of Erika Ishii’s role in Ghost of Yōtei and predictable backlash centering on queerness in video games from a certain squalid corner of the internet I saw a thread by Ciarán Strange (voice of Lor and Paladin Mike in the Borderlands series) that felt like he had a lot more to say. To my great appreciation, Ciarán Strange writes;
Helldivers 2 is incredible. There are no two ways about that; it is the perfect blend of epic, chaotic, frenzied insanity and cool, calm and collected tactical thinking. All set across gorgeous landscapes with absolutely beautiful lightning effects. But we have to talk about the Helldivers 2 queerphobia problem.
At the 2023 Game Awards we didn’t just have Alan Wake the Musical, Jordan Peele coming out of an ominous door and surprise God of War DLC. We also had confirmation that VTubing is taking over the world of livestreaming, and for good reason, as Twitch’s most subscribed female streamer (with an additional 1.87M followers) Ironmouse took home the award for Content Creator of the Year.
