JK Rowling breaks silence on Roe vs Wade, with transphobia

There have already been attempts from transphobes to blame this on trans people. We have seen comments wherein people take aim at gender neutral language, such as "people who can get pregnant". The argument being that not using the word "woman" has made things more difficult, confusing and harder to argue. However I haven't used the word "woman" in this piece even once, and don't plan to. It's not only women who require access to abortions and abortions should be accessible for all those who need them.

Why I Won’t Write For Indy Voices Any More

I was super proud to be commissioned for Indy Voices a few years ago. I sent every piece to my parents like “look, its...

BBC continues to help manufacture transphobic culture war over sports

Fairness in sports is important, but it will never be achieved through bigoted nonsense like the kind advanced by the BBC in this piece. I would say the BBC should know better, but we already know it doesn't. Its happy to join the bandwagon of anti-trans sensationalism for the sake of a few clicks. You know, the usual horrific bigot crap our community has come to expect from media giants around the world.

Fear

As we get this project started, I'm going through some old writing that I let fall from my head at the start of my...

BBC launder reputation for disgraced Graham Linehan

The BBC are a corrupt and institutionally transphobic organisation. We’ve known this for a while and I’ve covered multiple occasions demonstrating that exact fact. Including the not too distantly recent time they tried to use a cisgender sexual predator as evidence that trans women are “pressuring women into sex”. This event is no different as they attempt to turn Graham Linehan into a sympathetic character.

Allison Bailey’s attempt to sue Stonewall UK; an introduction

Allison Bailey is alleging she was discriminated against by her employers, Garden Court Chambers, and also Stonewall UK. She believes that she has lost work because of Stonewall as she is a critic of 'Stonewall Law'. Which, in short, is the idea that Stonewall are misrepresenting the law, specifically the Equality Act, and disadvantaging cisgender women at the behest of transgender women.

How men can be better feminists

Where was JK Rowling during #BanConversionTherapy protests?

JK Rowling has begun trending on Twitter in the aftermath of the protest as trans people in particular remember that in June 2020 JK Rowling posted the following tweet; "I respect every trans person's right to live any way that feels authentic and comfortable to them. I'd march with you if you were discriminated against on the basis of being trans. At the same time, my life has been shaped by being female. I do not believe it's hateful to say so."

An employment tribunal has found that a trans woman was discriminated against when she was asked about her use of the changing areas. This discrimination was based on the protected characteristic of gender reassignment.
